Belated Happy New Year

Started the New Year by breaking my partial on New Year's Day. After researching and finding the best price in Alaska for a replacement denture set would be $3200, Jonna came to the rescue by getting a quote from her Dentist for $585. A savings of over $2600 was cause enough for my first medical tourism jaunt. More than enough to cover the airfare of $545 RT Anchorage to Merida since I had some air mileage to apply to part of the trip.

On January 2oth I will arrive in beautiful Merida Mexico to take J & M' up on their invitation to stay with them thru January 31. If I had only known it would only take me breaking a denture to get a trip to Mexico, it would have been broken some time ago. LOL

The only trouble I may have is adjusting to the heat in the South. We've been going thru a brief cold snap. Day before yesterday when I left home to run errands, it was 17 degrees below. Today it got up to Zero. Prediction for tomorrow is for 18 degrees above....so it's warming ....but also started snowing again after a very short break.

December broke snow & wind records. Looks like January may break those records...at least the snow part. It just keeps coming down. Sure is pretty out. Haven't even tried to shovel off the deck - where it is now approx. 4 feet deep. Can hardly keep the driveway plowed open. Have neighbor's notified to check on Neil's needs while I'm away.

Will be taking a layover night in Seattle on the way down for a quick Nicky Fix.
