Oh No........

Woke up this morning to find the wind lashing the treetops into a fury.... blowing all the gold off. Just in the last few hours, I began to glimpse the lake thru the trees with mountains beyond topped with a dusting of fresh snow. Now when you look up to the blue sky with piled-up clouds of greyish white, you see bare branch filigree silhouetted. There's a nip to the brisk wind that "shivers your timbers".

The snow level marching down the mountains is covering more and more of their fall-colored flanks. The sun comes out and melts it back, but the thicker cap covering is staying on the tallest and in the folds of the mountain slopes. The downward snow level march will still take awhile before reaching the Valley floor.
So good to sit inside with the dry woodsy smell and warmth of a fireplace blaze while watching lively troupes of leaves do a skittering dance across the road in the path of little planes taxiing past the front windows heading out for their last few fun flights before being stowed for winter.

(Hope you'll aren't checking my sentence structure :-)

Not many put their planes on floats or skis for the winter in this subdivision . Landing on skis is easy enough but taxiing on skis on a narrow snowy subd. street is difficult. For most it's not worth the risk of sliding off the street into a ditch. Even slow slides can do alot of body damage to little taildragger planes, or tricycle gear high winged ones, if the wind catches them or they hit a black ice patch.

Bettter hurry....time to get the deck furniture and lawn tools battened down or stowed.

But first a quick flight around the Southern end of our beautiful Valley.
